Many glue joints on this clock had dried out and
released over the decades.
This project included veneer, hardware,
and joint repair. As well as a good bit elbow grease and a
talented clock repair craftsman.
Every nook and cranny scraped, bushed, steel wooled,
or picked. Whatever it takes to reveal all the original details
hidden by coat after coat of paint.
Dovetail joints refurbished.
The bottom edge of the drawer sides had
to be built back up after years of wear had worn these old drawers
down.
Possible origin of this cabinet was as a train station bulletin board.
It's new owner planned to install it in her kitchen as a spice rack.
It was stripped and rebuilt. Adjustable shelves were added
and the door rebuilt.
